Chef Michael


Michael Schulson.  If the name sounds familiar, it should.  Having worked his way through the ranks in such legendary restaurants as Le Bec Fin, Susanna Foo, Pod, and Buddakhan,  Chef Michael has certainly made a name for himself. More recently, he has appeared on several TV shows as a culinary host and a celebrity judge.  Clearly driven and ambitious, Michael is also the chef and owner of  Izakaya located in the Borgata and now Sampan. It may surprise you to learn that this Long Island native, now famous for his ability to create incredibly refined Asian inspired dishes, actually began his career studying classic French cuisine.  As a highly acclaimed chef who has spent time living and traveling through Asia, his latest project Sampan was born of his desire to come back to Philly and cook in a small personal space.  Michael’s food showcases his skill as a classically trained chef with a heartfelt love for Asian flavors.
